A niche perfume is a fragrance far removed from the mass market: high-quality raw materials, original compositions and a distinctive signature. Rather than aiming for broad appeal, niche houses focus on character – a fragrance should evolve on the skin and be unmistakable.

How do I find the right fragrance for me?

Take your time and wear the fragrance for a few days in everyday life. With our 3 ml decants you can discover at leisure how a perfume unfolds on your skin. Many people don’t find their signature scent with the first spray, but after a few days.

Do you offer samples or decants?

Yes. We offer a 3 ml decant of every fragrance in our range, so you can get to know your favourite before committing to a full bottle.

Kai Porten is the founder of the eponymous German niche perfume brand Kai Porten. Founded in 2023, the brand stands for modern fragrances of strong character, created in collaboration with internationally renowned perfumers such as Mark Buxton, Chris Maurice and Miguel Matos. Rather than composing the fragrances himself, Kai Porten is responsible for the creative direction, the fragrance concepts and the brand vision.

We are Luca (27) and Lina (23) – Germany’s youngest niche perfumery. With our boutique in Mannheim, we turned a shared passion into our profession: long-time perfume collectors, now authorised retailers of selected niche brands.
